The Main House
The stately Main House was built in the late 1700s and is enveloped by fragrant gardens in the summer with a large porch and an outside slate patio. This area is ideal for dining, socializing or just sitting and contemplating the glorious surroundings. Swim or canoe in the pond, watch for herons flying overhead. The plentiful outdoors seating arrangements offers intimate encounters with birds and butterflies attracted by the abundant blooms and shrubbery.
About the House
Fully furnished and elegantly decorated, the Main House offers 3 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths. The cozy living room is a wonderful place for entertaining with a fireplace providing warmth on cool days. The nearby study is equipped with a desk, Internet connection and inviting chairs for relaxing with television or a book. The spacious, comfortable family kitchen, with state-of-the-art appliances, is one of the focal points of the Main House, where everyone can gather and enjoy a meal together at the large kitchen table. The formal dining room comfortably seats eight.
Custom-made cherry banisters lead up the stairways, where bedrooms offer comfortable beds with private baths and ample closet space.
The Surrounding Area
The Main House is surrounded by flower gardens and foot paths and is a short distance from its own spring fed pond with a small sandy beach. A stream graces the back side of the house adjacent to the patio. The pond is a fine place for swimming in the summer with its two hardwood docks. Adjacent to the pond, in midst of a rose garden is a Gazebo offering midday shade. The open and spacious flagstone patio is a great place to enjoy outdoor summer dining and socializing. The tennis court is just a short garden-walk away.
